Privacy Policy

Money Code Quest (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting the privacy of our users, especially children and teenagers. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to you and/or your parent or guardian. It applies to www.moneycodelab.com, our mobile apps, and related services (the “Services”).

1. A Notice for Parents and Guardians

Money Code Quest is a children's game with no ads, no purchases, no chat, and no user accounts. The app only stores the nickname a child types in and their game progress (coins and completed chapters), saved under a random anonymous ID. We never ask for an email address, phone number, real name, photos, or location — and we never sell or share data for advertising.

Money Code Quest is published by MR CODEY LIMITED, 13 Josemaria Escrivia Close, Lekki. It is an educational game that teaches money skills to children aged 7–11. If you have any questions about this policy or your child's data, contact us at [email protected]

2. Information The App Stores

We may collect the following categories of information:

  • A nickname: When the game starts, the child types a name to play under. We suggest using a made-up nickname; the app does not ask for or verify a real name.
  • Game Progress: Coins earned, chapters and activities completed, and in-game pretend-money balances (savings, investments) that are part of the learning experience.
  • A random anonymous identifier: The app uses a technical ID created by Google Firebase to save progress. It is not linked to a real-world identity, an email address, or a phone number.

3. Information The App Doesn't Collect

We do not collect the following categories of information:

  • No email address, phone number, or password: There is no account or sign-up..
  • No real name, home address, photos, contacts, microphone, camera, or location.
  • No advertising, no ad identifiers, and no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.
  • No chat, social features, or user-generated content shared with others.
  • No in-app purchases of any kind.

4. How We Use Information

The nickname and game progress are used for exactly one purpose: so the game can greet the child by their chosen name and remember how far they have played. We do not use this data for advertising or marketing, we do not build profiles, and we never sell it.

5. Where The Data Lives

Progress is stored securely in Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore), a service provided by Google LLC, and is encrypted in transit. In-game educational videos are streamed from Amazon Web Services. These providers process data only to provide their services to us.

Their privacy policies: Google Firebase · Amazon Web Services.

Like any internet service, these providers may briefly process the device's IP address to deliver content; we do not store it.

6. Children’s Privacy (COPPA & GDPR-K)

The app is designed for children and is built to comply with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the EU GDPR's protections for children. We keep data collection to the minimum the game needs (a nickname and progress), we do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and we show no advertising.

If you believe a child has entered personal information into the nickname field (for example, a full real name), contact us at [email protected] and we will delete it.

7. Data Retention & Deletion

Progress stays saved so the child can continue playing. If the app is uninstalled or its stored data is cleared on the device, the link between that device and the saved progress is broken and the game starts fresh.

A parent or guardian can ask us to permanently delete a child's stored nickname and progress at any time by emailing [email protected]. Please mention the child's in-game nickname and the approximate date they played. We will delete the data within 30 days and confirm by reply.

8. Security

All data travels between the app and our servers over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), and is stored on Google's secured infrastructure with access limited to the app itself.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on www.moneycodelab.com with a revised effective date, and where appropriate, we will notify parents and guardians directly.
