Terms of Service — Money Code Quest

Welcome to Money Code Quest (“Money Code Quest”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), a children’s educational game featuring Mr Codey, published by MR CODEY LIMITED, 13 Josemaria Escrivia Close, Lekki. Money Code Quest teaches financial literacy skills to children through an interactive story-based game, offered on our website (www.moneycodelab.com), mobile apps, and related services (together, the “Services”).

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) form a binding agreement between you and Money Code Quest. Because the Services are designed for children, a parent or legal guardian must read and agree to these Terms on the child’s behalf and must supervise the child’s use of the Services. By downloading, accessing, or using the Services, you (or your parent or guardian, if you are a minor) agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Eligibility and Parental Consent

• The Services are designed for children and are intended to be used under the guidance and consent of a parent or legal guardian.
• A parent or legal guardian must review these Terms and our Privacy Policy before allowing a child to use the Services, and remains responsible for supervising the child’s activity within the app.
• Money Code Quest does not knowingly collect personal information from children beyond the limited data described in our Privacy Policy, and does not require any personal information to create or use the game.

2. Description of Services

Money Code Quest provides financial literacy education through an interactive story, game chapters, and simulated financial activities designed to build practical money skills in children. Any in-game currency, coins, badges, savings, or investment balances are part of the learning experience only and have no real-world monetary value.

3. No Accounts, No Purchases, No Chat

Unlike many apps, Money Code Quest is built to be as simple and safe as possible:

• No user accounts. There is no sign-up, login, email address, or password. A child simply types a nickname to begin playing, and game progress is saved locally against an anonymous technical identifier as described in our Privacy Policy.
• No in-app purchases or subscriptions. Money Code Quest does not sell anything within the app, and no payment information is ever collected or processed through the Services.
• No advertising. The app does not display ads and does not use advertising identifiers or third-party ad or tracking SDKs.
• No chat, messaging, or social features. Money Code Quest does not permit direct messaging, public posting, or any form of unsupervised communication between users, whether adults or children.

Because there are no accounts or purchases, the account-security, billing, and payment-authorization provisions found in some other Money Code Lab Terms of Service do not apply to Money Code Quest.

4. Acceptable Use

To keep the Services safe, you agree that you will not:

• Use the Services for any unlawful purpose or in violation of applicable local, national, or international law;
• Attempt to probe, scan, reverse-engineer, decompile, or gain unauthorized access to the app, its source code, or its underlying systems;
• Deploy viruses, malware, bots, or automated scraping tools against the Services;
• Attempt to extract, alter, or tamper with a child’s saved progress or anonymous identifier belonging to another user;
• Copy, duplicate, resell, license, or commercially exploit any portion of the Services without our express prior written authorization;
• Engage in any conduct that endangers, exploits, or seeks to harm a child in connection with the Services.

Any attempt to circumvent the safeguards described in Section 3 (for example, by trying to introduce chat, messaging, or data-collection functionality not built into the app) is a material breach of these Terms.

5. Intellectual Property

• All materials comprising the Services — including the “Money Code Quest” and “Mr Codey” names, logos, characters, storylines, visual interfaces, graphics, source code, educational frameworks, lesson content, and audio — are the exclusive property of MR CODEY LIMITED or its licensors, and are protected by copyright, trademark, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws.
• Subject to your compliance with these Terms, MR CODEY LIMITED grants a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, and revocable license to access and use the app solely for personal, non-commercial, educational use. If the app is used by a minor, this license extends to the parent or legal guardian solely for the purpose of supervising the child’s use of the Services.
• You do not acquire any ownership rights by using the Services. Except as expressly permitted under these Terms, you may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works from, reverse-engineer, data-mine, or commercially exploit any part of the Services without our prior written permission.

6. Child Safety

• MR CODEY LIMITED maintains a strict, zero-tolerance policy toward any behavior, content, or attempt to endanger, exploit, or harm a child in connection with the Services. Because Money Code Quest has no chat, messaging, or social features, there is no mechanism within the app for unsupervised contact between users — this design choice exists specifically to protect children.
• If you become aware of any attempt to exploit, endanger, or gain inappropriate access to a child through or in connection with the Services, please report it immediately to [email protected] with the subject line “URGENT — Safety”. Safety-related reports are prioritized for immediate review.
• Where we discover or suspect a genuine threat to a child’s safety, we will take appropriate action, which may include disabling access and notifying law enforcement or child-protection authorities in accordance with applicable law.

7. Limitations and Disclaimers

• We aim to keep the Services available, but they may occasionally be interrupted for maintenance, updates, or technical issues beyond our control. We do not guarantee continuous, error-free access.
• The Services are provided on an “AS-IS” and “AS-AVAILABLE” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all express or implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular educational purpose, and non-infringement.
• To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, MR CODEY LIMITED and its directors, officers, employees, affiliates, agents, and licensors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from access to or use of the Services.

8. Termination

We may suspend or restrict access to the Services at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that violates these Terms or that we reasonably believe is harmful to a child, to other users, or to Money Code Quest.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by posting the updated Terms on www.moneycodelab.com with a revised effective date. Continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Lagos State, Nigeria.
